Have you ever felt like something was missing?
Women were created with greatness in their hearts just like everybody else. But how many of us in the process of taking care of others lose who we are?
I can remember growing up and always being Doc’s daughter. Then when I got married I was known as Mike’s wife. After I had kids it wasn’t long before I was known as Dustin and Brady’s mom.
Now don’t get me wrong I love every single one of those roles and they helped shape me into the person I am now.
But there’s something about being known by your own name.
Something about keeping your dreams alive amidst all the other roles in our life.
You see, God put those there for us. They’re not just something we’re supposed to keep squashing down in order to take care of everyone else. I don’t mean we have to ignore our other roles and responsibilities either.
So how do we go about doing it all? We release the need for perfection!! Let me say that again – we need to release perfection. It’s not possible this side of heaven anyway. Not to mention, the way God created me to function may be completely different than how he created you.
So let’s commit to stop comparing our journeys to everybody else and our need to be all that and a bag of chips to everybody. (My kids hate that I say that all the time!)

He put them there for reason! There is purpose in those dreams. When we follow God’s leading in them they bring glory and honor to Him. Really, could there be anything better?
Now I don’t know about you but I love all the roles in my life. That includes those where I can dream big and go after what God puts in my heart. I come alive when I follow after God and live with the passion He put in me.
I don’t know what that is for you friend but listen for that still small voice. Lean into Him and trust that what God put in you He’ll guide you in.
[Tweet “Embrace what brings you life!”]
Can I let you in on a little secret? Those things that bring you life can and often do change with different seasons of your life. There is NOTHING wrong with that!
As long as we’re continuing to listen to what God is calling us to do. It’s all His anyway. Our time, talents, seasons, passions and dreams.
So don’t shy away from what God is calling you towards. The one true King calls you by YOUR name. The rest of it is just icing on the cake!
Praying blessings over you this week and always!

Love this. It’s a great reminder that God created us each uniquely and we need to be ourselves.
I love how He created us so unique and along with that comes our purpose.
