Five Minute Friday is so much fun for me. No pressure! Simply a word prompt on twitter (#fmfparty) on Thursday night and then write. No over thinking or editing. There is a linkup on Friday at http://katemotaung.com where we can read other’s five minute free write. This week’s prompt is: Park
Ready, set, go….
I want to park my brain on the truth of how much God loves me. Just sit and simmer in it for awhile.
How often do we run forward with just a little nugget before we really grab hold of the depth of His love. Then the enemy sneaks in and chips away at the small nugget and before we know it, we’re unsure about God’s love for us again.
So I’m parking right here for awhile. Filling up before I go out. Digging deep to understand just how wide, how long, how high and how deep His love really is for me!
The Amplified version of Ephesians 3:18 calls it an amazing, endless love!
I don’t know about you but I just want our brains AND hearts to park right there for awhile. So we can be completely filled and flooded with how much He loves us. And…it doesn’t change!
We can’t earn His love and we can’t make Him stop loving us either. Sure we can grieve Him but His love NEVER changes. When we can operate from a place of love instead of a place of striving to earn His love our soul lights up.
[Tweet “I, for one, do not operate well in the realm of fear. But, love is a whole different story.”]
Friend, settle into this truth today. God truly wants you to experience the fullness of His amazing love.
Will you park there with me for awhile today, tomorrow and the days to come?
Beautiful! And yes, I’d love to join you parked in the truth for a while. 🙂
Glad you’ll park there with me for awhile!
This post brought to my mind the title of a book by Watchman Nee I was reading recently, “Sit, Walk, Stand.” In it he writes about the importance of that sitting, parked in a sense, with Christ “in the heavenlies,” as very important, and preliminary to everything we do in Him. Good thoughts here.
Thanks Sylvia! I find myself way to often rushing on ahead before sitting parked with Him first.
This reminder is so helpful for me today. How important it is to, as you said, park ourselves in the truth of his love and just stay there awhile. I fall into the “not worthy” lies from time to time and when those moments come, I need to park myself in a different place!
Peace.
Patricia (FMF#31)
I have been in that “not worthy” camp way to often in my life Patricia. Good thing we can switch gears and spend time with Him exploring how much He truly loves us. Blessings!
Love the new blog look. I want to soak in these truths too!
Thanks Tara!
